An Awesome Soccer Player

Seth had a soccer game last night (sorry, I would have posted these last night if my camera and I were getting along! I really am not that stupid, it's just that EVERY techno problem that could happen DOES happen to me!! I fixed it though!) He did a pretty good job at chasing down the ball, which is a HUGE thing for him--he usually ends up laying-yep, LAYING-on the opposite side of the field as the ball. *Sorry about the blurry pics, Pypee was on my lap--enough said!* Seth's team won the game 7 to 1, I told you they were awesome!! I love to watch him play, he pulls the funniest faces! He has another game on Saturday (May 3) at 11:00 at the Sports Complex by Caspers if you want to come. He loves to show off his "sweet soccer skills!"

Yay for Bugga!!

It finally happened! My Bug is not going to be toothless for the rest of her life! Yep, those long lost front teeth are starting to grow in!!! This is wonderful for her, but man, I sure am going to miss watching her bite apples!

TRAUMA!!!

AAAUGH! I am having some MAJOR trauma! Now, don't freak out, no one is dead, maimed, or in any other way hurt or ill. It's not that kind of trauma. This would be the "I'm not ready for my kid to be this old" kind of trauma. My sweet little Hannah has a "boyfriend." You know, the boyfriend that you sit by at lunch, hold hands with, DO NOT kiss because it's not allowed, and tee-hee with all your girlfriends about for about 2 weeks when you both find a different "one and only."

I just don't know if I am big enough to handle havng a kid this old! She was not suppose to grow up until I was ready for it, and trust me, I was going to be at least 80 before that happened! Can you believe that she CALLS HIM ON THE PHONE and TEXT MESSAGES HIM!!! I AM NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR THIS!!!! I had just barely almost gotten used to the idea that she will be in Young Womens in September. Now I have to deal with the fact that boys are not as gross as they once were (which I was more than happy to encourage!).

When is she going to see that she has to wait until I am ready for her to be this old before she can be? She didn't even ask what I thought of her growing up, she just DID it! *Sigh* I guess that it is about time for me to decide that she is going to grow up, whether I am ready for it or not, but that doesn't mean that I am going to be one bit happy about it!!! Someday, I may decide that I am big enough for this, but today is just not that day! How's that "Shrinking Machine" coming Jenni? I could sure use it!

Where Kisses Are Kept.

So, this is another Pyper funny. It must be because she is the one that is home all day, so I still get to see all of the funny things that she does. Lately, she has been keeping her "kisses" in her pocket. She will run up to you and say, "Guess what, I have a kiss in my pocket for you!" Then she reaches in her pocket, grabs a "kiss", puts it on her lips, and then gives you a kiss. Sometimes you get "a big one," and others it is "just a tiny one." This morning I was privileged enough to get " lobbery one!" She is a goober, but we sure do love her! She's a keeper!

Pyper LOVES Strawberries!

I bought some Strawberries at Wally World the other day, and Pyper has eaten almost a whole container by herself. They were even the bigger sized containers! She comes running up to me and says, "Can I have a Drawbewy?" Then tells me that she just needs a "baby one, not a big mommy one." She is so silly!! I am such a great mom that I let her eat strawberries, yougurt, and Oreos for breakfast this morning! Don't tell the other kids, they will be mad at me, I never let them have Oreos for breakfast!!

Chocolate Test

I found this test in my email this morning. (I'm supposed to be playing secretary for my "boss", so I'm playing on the computer! :)) Of course, I HAD to take it! It was actually sort of true!

What Your Taste in Chocolate Says About You
You are sophisticated, modern, and high class.
Your taste is refined, but you are not picky.
You are often the first to try something new.

You are down to earth and lovable.
A true friend, you're very tolerant and understanding.
In fact, your friends' biggest problem is that they don't like each other!

You love the feeling of accomplishment. You enjoy doing what's important.
You feel lost when you have to do frivolous tasks or hang out with shallow people.

Why???

OK, my sis-in-laws both got cute new templates on their blogs recently. I decided that I was tired of looking at the one I had, so I picked out this cute new one. (actually, Valerie had it on her blog for a bit, I loved it, she changed it, so it was free game ;) !) I spent 3 hours last night trying to get the dumb thing to work! Gave up after about 1o error messages (I'm not kidding 10!) I got up this morning and decided to work on it again while he kids were getting ready for school, and wouldn't you know it, it worked on the first time! Sometimes I really HATE TECHNOLOGY!!! I'm not THAT big of an idiot! Anyway, I like the new blog looks gals!!

Ohh, Lyra...

So today we hopped into Bath and Body Works to get some yummy lotion. They had lipgloss on sale, so being the wonderful mommy that I am, I told Bug and Pyper that they could each get one. Well, I really hope that lipgloss is nontoxic in large quantities, Bugga has DRANK her entire tube of lipgloss!! EEEWWWW!!!! What am I going to do with her? If I live through her, it will be a miracle!!

My Gorgeous Hannah...

Hannah got her hair cut yesterday, and it is SO cute! I can't believe that she is getting so old! I had to share how cute she is. I think I may start accompanying her everywhere with a shotgun, just to be safe! She is so much fun to have around (and can be a little annoying at times too! What can I say, she is almost a teenager!) She constantly has us laughing about something. On Sunday night, we stayed up until 2 am playing a rousing game of The Farming Game. (No, I'm not THAT bad of a parent, they were on Spring Break. At least theirs was warm with no snow!) She lost a bunch of money on a harvest, promptly grabbed her gut, says, "Oh, my SPLEEN!" and falls off her chair. Her dad and I were laughing so hard that we had tears streaming down our faces. It probably didn't help that it was WAY after midnight! To make it even worse, she looks up from the floor and asks, "What is a spleen anyway?" She is always coming up with some crazy, off the wall song, dance, or saying! (The next time you see her, make sure to ask her about "The Hillbilly Wiener" dance, it is worth seeing! I got graced with it again yesterday, and I still laughed!) Oh, Hannah, we are so glad to have you as part of our family!!

One more thing~

Have A GREAT DAY Aunt Loopy!

Happy Birthday!

Fun at the Park

On Friday, Grandma Sue came and took Hannah, Seth, and Lyra to her house for a sleepover. That meant that it was just me 'n Pypee at home. We decided that we wanted to play as well, so Aunt Loopy and Rand came over and we went down to the park, since it was FINALLY a sunshiny day! We had a great time! Rand LOVED the tall steep slide and would lift his feet up to slide down it faster. We did coax Pyper down it once, but she deemed it "to scary" to go down again! She just slid down the "yiddow ones, cause I'm yiddow." Pyper could not swing high enough, but Rand would only swing for about a minute and then he had to get out of the swing! It was fun to watch them play and figure things out together! Thanks for the fun afternoon guys!

A Seth funny

Tonight, Seth was practicing his guitar. I realized that it was too quiet and I went in to check on him and see why he wasn't playing. This is what I found...

Guess he rocked out a little too hard! AC/DC's Highway to Hell will do that to you! (Look, I got the pic off my camera! YAY ME!!!)

Tonya the genious!

So, I got this cool new camera on Saturday night. I was all excited because we went to David's Dad's house for conference with the family, and what better time to test out my new camera?!?! Well, Pyper and my nephew Rand were being cute and sliding down the stairs holding hands so I snapped a bunch of pics. On Sunday night I decided to download them to the computer and blog them. Well, to make a long story short- I AM A TECHNOLOGICAL IDIOT!!! Needless to say, I now have a reformatted memory card, and the photos (dang cute ones, I might add!) are now gone forever! BUMMER!!! Anyway, we had a good dinner, and laughed at the kids a lot, and it was really fun day (except that half our cousins had the chicken pox at their house, so we didn't get to see them!!) Guess you all have to wait to see my photography skills, hopefully I can figure out how get the photos off the dumb camera!

Yummy recipe!

Ok, tonight for dinner I made some super good soup! I got the recipe from my sister-in-law and it was so yummy that I thought I would share it so you can try it as well!

Spanish Style Chicken Noodle Soup

1 T extra virgin olive oil
3 celery ribs, chopped
2 med carrots, chopped
1 lrg onion, chopped
1-2 T (a palmful) chili powder
1 bay leaf (fresh if possible)
Salt & pepper
1 1/2 quarts (6 cups) chicken stock
1/2 pound orzo pasta
1 pound chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
2 28oz cans stewed tomatoes
1 cup corn, fresh or frozen
1 15oz can black beans, drained

For garnish:
Sliced scallions (I used green onions, I couldn't find scallions)
red or blue tortilla chips (used plain tortilla chips!)
lime wedges

Heat oil in a large pot on med-high heat. Add celery, carrots, onions, chili powder, and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 2-3 minutes and add chicken stock. Bring to a boil and then add pasta. Cook according to package directions, adding chicken during last 5 minutes of cooking. Add tomatoes, corn, and beans and heat through. Ladle into bowls and garnish with scallions, chips and lime wedges for zip. Serves 6 with seconds.

WARNING: This makes A TON of soup! They are six hearty portions! I doubled the recipe (I know, I can't cook for anything less than a small army!! But we are never starved!) and fed my family, the missionaries, my neighbors, and my parents, and STILL have enough left over for another lunch! (Thanks for the heads up about how much this makes, Valerie!!) Since it was tasty, we don't mind eating it again. This will become a regular around our house!
