Last Christmas Party of the Season!

On Saturday we got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Schvaneveldt's house for our final Christmas Party. As usual, the season ended on a high note! It is always fun to spend the day at Grandma's house. She makes the best food and has such yummy treats, and always thinks of the best presents!

We started off with some pizza, soup, and a bunch of different salads. If you couldn't find something you liked, you must just be too picky!

Then we opened presents. The kids each got a jean quilt made just for them by Grandma-Great. They even had their names stitched on them. My kids broke them out as soon as we got home. Hannah snuggled down in hers and said, "Oh, I just love this blanket. It smells like Grandma's house, and Grandma's house smells so good!"

All of the adults at the party got to pick out of a huge pile of goodies from Sam's Club. we ended up with a huge box of fruit snacks and 18 rolls of potty paper! She also made each family a bag of raisin cookies, some chews, and licorice caramel's! WOOHOO! Grandpa made us each a cool horseshoe drink holder. I must say that I have been coveting the one he has at his house for a while now, so I was pretty excited to have my own! Thanks Grandpa!

Mandy made a DVD of all the family for Grandma, and Jeremy got Grandpa's old saddle redone.

The kids all played Bingo and got a prize, then the adults played the candy bar game. David and I ended up with six candy bars between the two of us, so we didn't do too badly! After that it was just visiting and snacking! It was the perfect ending to all our Christmas festivities! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Sch, we sure had a good time!

When I say it snowed...

...I mean it really snowed!

This is what we found when we opened the front door...

And it continued clear out to the street!

These were about 9 o'clock after it snowed all day!

Our Christmas

We had a great Christmas! Hannah and Pyper woke up at 5 AM! (I think it was Hannah who woke Pyper up that early, but Hannah says she woke up on her own!) And that was AFTER we took Hannah's phone that she had set the alarm on! No sleeping in at our house! Santa dropped off tons of loot at our house, and the kidlets had a good time opening all their presents. Then we had a tasty breakfast and just relaxed for the rest of the day! Good thing we didn't really have plans to go anywhere...it snowed A LOT!

Over the River...

...to Grandma's house we go!

We had our "Webb Family" Christmas party yesterday at Grandma Charlene's house. There was lots of yummy food (who knew Jeremy was such a chef?), presents, laughs, and Santa! We sang some songs with Santa and Grandma Schvaneveldt even learned ALL the words to "Oh Christmas Tree!" I got me in some good chubby cheek smootchin', got some giggles out of Mason, and Bryli came and gave me a kiss when we got there! That sure does make an Aunt feel good to know she is liked! All the kids got too many presents as usual thanks to all the Aunts and Uncles. After we got home Hannah did her nails, Seth had to put the drum accessories on , Pyper slept with her "new purpow blyanket", and I have replaced the batteries AND downloaded pictures TWICE from Bug's camera! They all slept in their new jammies. It was a fun time and we really enjoyed ourselves--Thanks Grandma Charlene and Grandpa Brent! We love you!

3...2...1...Blastoff!

I was looking through the pictures I cleared off my camera a few days ago, and found these I had forgotten about--

Seth got a rocket for his birthday. He was so excited and he had to go launch it off the next day! *He used both of the engines that came with the rocket, so it was a good thing he got more from Aunt Loopy and Uncle Dustin the next night for his birthday present! * I was told to come along to take pictures of his first launch. Now that it has snowed he thinks it will be funny to launch it again and watch all the snow melt around the launchpad. I hope he isn't disappointed with that!

Seth's A Wolf!

Last night Seth got his Wolf badge. He loves scouts, and I am very proud of how hard he works. He was so excited to earn his badge, and was presented it last night at Pack Meeting. He also got to do the flag ceremony! His Cub Master Nancy always finds a creative way to present their badges to them. This time she gave Seth a present. As he was opening it, she asked the other scouts if they wanted her to give them the same present that she gave to Seth. Of course they all said yes! After he opened it, she explained that if she just gave them each a badge, that it wouldn't mean as much to them as it did to Seth. He had worked hard to get it, therefore it was special to him. The boys all agreed and then we finished the night off with some yummy treats!

Now Seth gets to be in the Bear den with me! I am so excited! I am also very proud of Seth and all the work he puts into Scouts! Here are some pictures of his night.

Tagged Again!

This is what happens when Bug gets a hold of my camera!

I was tagged by Kim for this one. You just go to your photo folders, and upload the 4th photo from the 4th folder, then tag 4 people. I tag whoever wants to do this! It was kinda silly and fun!

It Snowed!

It finally decided to snow. I don't usually care much for snow, but I do enjoy a white Christmas! The kids bundled up and went out to "help dad shovel", really it was just an excuse for them to throw snowballs at him!
Seth didn't fare so well, he ended up with a scoop of snow down the back of his coat!

Lyra made some pretty great snow angels.

Evona turned from dog to snowmobile. It was funny, she would put her nose down and just push through the snow running as fast as she could go in snow that was deeper than she is tall!

And this picture is my favorite! Pyper caught "nofwakes" on her tongue. They also "gots in mine eyes" while she was catching them!

The Birthday Parties

Seth and Lyra decided this year that they wanted their own parties. We have always just had them together so that family only had to make one trip! (They have always each had their own cake though, cause i just can't make them share EVERYTHING!) Our families were sweet enough to come twice, so they each got to have their own party this year, but they have to share the same blog post! Aunt Loopy is the camera person at my kids' birthdays and I am at her kid's , it is hard to play hostess, mom and camera person! She wasn't able to come to Seth's party, so Bugga has WAY more pics--OOPS!

First was Seth's birthday.

Then was Lyra's party.

Thanks everyone for coming twice so they could each have a party!

Happy Birthday #7 to My Bug!

The day after her brother's second birthday, Lyra decided to join us! Not to be outdone by Seth, she waited for 16 days past her due date! (I should have known then that she was just a teensy bit stubborn!)

She was the best baby, and was always happy! She was also a chunky thing. She weighed 9 pounds, but was only 19 inches long! She even had a fat roll on the back of her head! She was (and still is) super snugly and loved her dad to rock her to sleep. She had lots of the darkest brown hair and the most gorgeous dark eyes.

She has turned into a beautiful little lady. She is bubbly and fun, a bit of a spitfire, with just a touch of tomboy! She can make me want to tear out my hair and I hope that she never changes!

Some things that make Lyra unique:

*She still loves to snuggle. One of my favorite things is that when she first wakes up in the morning, she has to come and sit on my lap and love for a bit. Then she can start her day and talk.

*She LOVES to ski! And not just ski-but ski FAST! She has also decided to try snowboarding this year.

*She likes to help me cook. It doesn't matter if it is dinner or a batch of cookies.

*She wants to be a "hairdo-er" when she grows up.

*She is a tease! She loves to play jokes and pest the little boys at school. You can always tell when she is up to mischief, she gets this little glint in her eyes and a grin on her face!

*She is tough as nails, and prissy all rolled into the same package!

*She is the only one in our house who can play the drums on Rock Band.

Bug, we are so glad to have you in our family! You keep us on our toes, and life is never dull with you around! Don't ever change one little bit, you are PERFECT!

Happy 9th Birthday Seth!

On December 10,1999 Seth FINALLY decided to join our family! He was quite content to take his time and was 13 days overdue. He had HUGE hands and feet and looked just like his Grandpa Gordon. I would like to say he was a good baby, but well, he wasn't! He was a Grumpy Gus until he was about 6 months old. Then I guess he figured out that it wasn't worth all the fuss (quite literally) and turned out to be the most easy going and happy kid I think I have ever seen!

This not-so-tiny-9 pound-1 ounce bouncing baby boy has turned out to be the most loving, gentle and eager to please boy. I couldn't ask for a better son! He loves to tease and is very affectionate. He always has a smooch and a squeeze, and always seems to know when I need them the most!

It has been so much fun to watch him grow and change. We have went from binkies and bottles to dump trucks and Bob the Builder to video games and rock stars! I wouldn't change one thing, except that I do miss putting him to bed with one binky and him waking up with another one that was hidden somewhere in his crib!

Here are some fun facts about Seth:

*When he was little, he would always swap a binky for the orange ones, I think they tasted better! He still likes orange!

*For a long time he wouldn't eat jam or any food that was pink, purple, or yellow. He said those were "girl" colors and food and he didn't want to turn into a girl!

*He plays the guitar and wants to be a rock star and own his dad's carnival when he grows up (this week anyway!).

*He loves to play Pokemon and has a pretty good card collection.

*He likes to snowboard and skateboard.

*He likes to play video games.

I am glad that he chose our family to be with forever! Happy Birthday Seth, we sure do love you Dude!

14 Years!

14 years ago today my life took a drastic change. I married my best friend. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1994. My life hasn't ever been the same since. It has been full of laughs, bumps, kids, bruises, and adventure. Even though we haven't had it easy, I wouldn't trade one minute of it! (and I probably would have still said yes even if it wasn't 6 a.m. when he asked me!)

Sisters

Hannah stayed home from school today because she didn't feel well. Pyper was super excited! They sat and watched Dora all morning. These two have it pretty bad for each other! Hannah says that "Pyper's the bomb!" and Pyper says when they grow up they are going to live in her "teensy tiny house" together on my grass. I'm just glad to have a break from Pyper's nonstop mouth for a few minutes today! I wonder how Hannah will be feeling tomorrow...

Schvaneveldt Christmas party and Gingerbread Houses

Saturday was the annual Schvaneveldt Christmas Party. My kidlets were all excited to see Santa and play with the present he brought them. Seth was certain that he would get something "awesome" that he could play with, which he informed me that his Nerf gun was!

It was a fun party. We got to spend more time with our family. *In fact, I must have been SO excited to go that I took off without the camera--AGAIN! Mandy (my sis-in-law who NEVER forgets her camera! Good thing she is our "family photographer" cause I just suck sometimes!) was nice enough to take my kids pics on Santa's lap. I'll post them as soon as I get them!* I got to play with Bryli and Mason, which is always the highlight of any family function! There is nothing like loving and sugaring and spoiling a kid that doesn't come home with me! It is great fun! I also would like to report that NO DIGITS were lost in my "candy cane retrieval venture!" I should have learned LONG ago that sticking a finger in a kid's candy-filled mouth isn't the wisest of choices--DUH!!!

Hannah, Seth, Bug, and Pyper all got to run around and play like crazy maniacs. I love how they look forward to playing at this party, and most of the kids they only see here once a year!

After the Christmas party, we went over to Grandma Charlene's house and decorated Gingerbread houses. I DID remember the camera for this, but since my hands were covered in Royal Icing, you only get to see what the finished product looks like! The one on the left is the one Grandma and Hannah made, Bugga and I did the one on the right. Just as hint--decorate the pieces BEFORE you glue the house together, it is MUCH easier to get the icing where you want!

Seth came and helped for about 30 seconds, just long enough to make sure all the sprinkles had been dumped on the floor. Then he went and resumed his Wii playing! After we finished the gingerbread houses, the rest of us joined him. Pyper wanted to play, and here is a funny little video of her hitting soccer balls on Wii Fit. She was mad because she couldn't hit many balls and her little person on the TV was getting sad and pounding the ground. She wanted the "kids" in the game to run around and cheer for her like they did Seth.

Exercise

Hannah and David have started an exercise routine. This day, they were riding the stationary bike and doing sit ups and push ups. Pyper was such a big help!

Here she is showing Hannah how to do sit ups.

And making sure that there was enough weight on the bike for Dad!

Over It

Yep, I thought I was over it! I hadn't cried about it in about a week and a half. Until today.

I had Cub Scouts today after school. We painted Christmas stocking ornaments and listened to Christmas music...and had a BLAST!

Then there was a knock on the door of the room we were in. It was all the Activity Days girls with a plate of cookies, a Thank You card, and a gift. They all gave hugs and I cried, ......again.

But I promise this is the last time.....

Getting Rich

David's mom had oil royalties that were split between her kids when she died. She was sure that she was going to make lots of money off these oils royalties one day, since they are all still capped wells.

About every 3 months or so, we get a check from either the land lease or the oil company. Usually the checks are about $25, enough for pizza night. So today when I got the mail there was a certified letter from the land leasing company. I was excited for the pizza party that was going to be had at my house! (SO excited in fact, that I forgot that I stopped on my way home from helping at the school and walked across the street to my house. I was very confused when I got in the driveway and the car was gone! It took me a few seconds to realize I had left it at the post office!)

Here is the letter:

I ripped it open, and this is the check that was inside:

My hopes of a pizza party were quickly dashed! Can you see how much it is for?

Here is a close-up:

Yep! NINE CENTS!! They paid $7.95 to send a certified letter containing a check for nine cents!

That's not even enough for a gumball! Looks like we will have to wait a little longer for our wealth from these wells!

A Sleepy Tink

This morning, I went in and woke Bug up for school and Pyper woke up. Well, I guess that is an exaggeration, she opened her eyes. I told her she didn't have to be awake yet and she could go back to sleep if she wanted. She said, "Ok, but can you just turned out da yites for me?" I told her it was just the sun, and I couldn't turn it off. Bug gave Pyper her mask to wear so it would be dark. It worked cause this is what she looks like now...
Ah, this girl does value her sleep! And so do we so that she isn't Miss Crabby Britches!
