Just a Pyperism....

Yesterday, Laura and I went to Logan. Each of our driver's licenses had expired on our birthdays, and we went together to get them renewed. Pyper and Rand were having a blast in the back seat, and must have been telling jokes or something. From the front seat we heard Rand say, "That is funny as Hewl!" Now..... I am proud to say we were good mommies and kept straight faces as we explained that we don't say those words.....until Pyper chimed in, "Yeah Wand, we don't say dat and we don't say shit, those are mommy words!"......we lost it!

A long time coming...

I don't normally get too emotional or religious on my blog. But today I am just so excited and happy that I am going to. For the last 3 years or so, David and I have had some personal issues that have needed to be resolved, and therefore have not had the privilege to have temple recommends. I didn't really realize what a big deal it was to have them, until today. I have always believed, but have felt very forgotten for the last while. We have each done a bunch of soul searching, praying, attitude changing, tithing paying; and decided today was the day we were ready to get our recommends back. We asked the bishopric after church when they did interviews, and they asked us to wait for just a few minutes and they would do it today! As I was sitting in the bishops office for my interview, it hit me how much I had missed the blessing of being able to go to the temple. I just came back from my interview with the stake president, and am very glad to say that I passed! I am now the proud owner of a temple recommend, and I hope I will never take it for granted again!

I'm wondering....

...if all teenagers come preprogrammed to do this. I know I used to!

(just thinking about it now gives me a headache!)

In training

Friday afternoon I was chatting with Leslie, and noticed that Pyper was in the bathroom singing. This in itself isn't unusual, she spends ENORMOUS amounts of time in the bathroom and sings often! (This does not make me excited for her to turn into a teenager if she already spend lots of time in there!) Still, I went to investigate the situation, and kick her off the potty--or so I thought. This is what I found...

She was washing the sink. Then when she got done with that, she decided to wash the walls...

I guess maybe I will start letting her spend all the time she wants in the bathroom!

Who do they look like?

Since I am REALLY bored and have nothing new to blog about, and also since we have argued for quite a few years (a little over 12 now to be exact) about who each kid looks like, I found this meter thingie. *talk about a run on sentence* I hope this solves it!

Eastering

We always roll our eggs with Grandma and Grandpa Schvaneveldt the Saturday before Easter. It is lots of fun, and very much looked forward to every year! We got to take our cousin Rand with us this year. We colored our eggs at Grandma's house, had a cookout, rolled our eggs, and had a ginormous egg fight! Here are all the pictures of our fun! We colored eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide after we got home. Thanks for all the fun Grandma and Grandpa! We love you!

Pyper got bling...

Pyper, Hannah, and I went Easter dress shopping for Hannah after school today. We ended up at the mall, and went by Claires. Of course Hannah had to go look at all the earrings. While we were there, Pyper decided she needed "pretty earws yike Hannah and Buggy." She picked out the sparkly earrings.

I think she looks pretty cute with her pierced ears, and she was excited too! She was pretty brave and only cried for a sec, then her "earws didan't hurt anymorn!"

Also, I just wanted to share how pretty my roses are that Bugga gave me for my birthday. They are just gorgeous, and have bloomed so big! The best part is that she got them at WalMart of all places!

Just a couple funny videos

Aunt Loopy, Uncle Dustin, and Rand came over for a visit last night. Pyper was playing dress up, and Rand wanted to play as well. Since the daddies don't take well to seeing their sons in dresses, Hannah found Rand a suit coat and tie to wear. He was Prince Charming and Pyper was Cinderella. They were at the ball and it was pretty funny.

And Rand was the perfect gentleman when they were finished dancing...

Finally Spring!

YES! Spring has decided to get here, at least for a few days! It was such a nice day yesterday that we broke out the sidewalk chalk and decorated our sidewalk! It was just naked!

Pyper really got into it. It's hard to see, but she was covered in chalk!

The finished product...I think. They may have done more after this!

And here is a little video of Bug showing off her hopscotch abilities! She is a spaz!!!

The last skiing post (at least for this year!)

Saturday was our last day at Beaver for the season. We had loads of fun, as usual. And it snowed, about 4 inches while we were there! The kiddos weren't very happy that the mountain was closing and it was still snowing!
Like I said before, if you have seen one picture of a helmeted skiing/snowboarding kid, you have pretty much seen them all! I did miss out on a video of Pyper, I was going to show off her awesome skills! I took some pics of them getting ready to go out, and also of their lunchtime fun! Aunt Loopy, Uncle Dustin, and Rand came with us again, and Aunt Loopy brought stuff to color. What a good aunt she is!

I am pretty sure this is Bug's "standard picture pose". About every picture I have of her is in this pose.

Hannah was pretty excited to "hit some pow"! She finally figured out the carving thing, and is now a pretty good snowboarder!

Here is Rand, all ready to go. Then he decided he needed a "nack" before he went "nobordin". We got him undressed...

Pyper learned to put her stuff on ALL BY HERSELF! She was so proud!

And then there is Seth, and his goofy face! What a kid!

Here is the gang having a snack break.

And Pyper and Rand making some beautiful atrwork!

We had a fun season, and can't wait until next year. Thanks for going with us Aunt Loopy, Uncle Dustin, and Rand!

Many thanks!

Thanks so much to everyone for wishing me a happy Birthday today! My phone rang off the hook today, and my inbox and Facebook page were pretty full, I loved every minute of it!

I had THE BEST birthday, AND I made a haul! I got new jammies (which I wore out to breakfast), new tunes, LOTS of Pepsi and chocolate, a dozen roses from Bug, some bling from my girlies, good smelling lotions and soaps, and a brand new electric pencil sharpener from Seth! What more could a gal want? Then we topped off my night with a pizza party and chocolate cake at Grandma Charlene's and Grandpa Brent's house.

So thanks to everyone for remembering me, I really appreciate it!

I think I must smell funny...

...because it seems that all my friends are moving away!

Our good friends Jared and Amy moved last August. My cute neighbor friend LuAnn, decided to move to a nice assisted living home in September. And just yesterday, I found out that my best friend Leslie is leaving me--today. On my birthday. To Indiana. I have been really big and not cried about it, as I promised I would. She is gone now, and I am crying. (See Les, you ARE better than Old Yeller!) I will miss her terribly, but am sincerely excited for her to start this new chapter in her life. I really hope the wind blows her back my way again soon!

Thanks Les for everything you have done for me and for all the great times we have had! And still WILL have! Good luck and I miss you already!
