LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

Can I just tell you how excited I am that school is out?!? I actually am MORE excited that there is no more soccer, guitar lessons, and karate! No more running kids, YAY!! We are also off on a roadie this afternoon. The kids and I are going to Reno to the fair with Dave. Wish me luck, that is a LONG drive! I hope my butt can handle it! And my sanity, me and four kids and a dog in a car for 600 miles! We are all super excited to see our Dad again, he has been gone for awhile! (Besides that, it will be warmer! That isn't hard since it STILL can't decide what season it is here!) So now instead of busy school days we get busy summer days! But at least I get to sleep in!!! Any way, I hope you have a good week! I plan on it!

Whew!

Oh, don't you just hate the times when you have about 4 days of running that has to be done? That's what our house has been like lately! Tuesday was Pyper's birthday, so we did birthday stuff with her. I also had a bachelor party happening at my house on Wednesday night, so I had to get ready for that.

Wednesday I had to go get David from Nephi so he could throw the bachelor party! Then the kidlets and I had to get lost until 2am! (thanks Aunt Loopy!!!) I came home exhausted, but we had fun also! Hannah, Loopy, and I watched 27 Dresses, it was cute! We sent Seth and Bug to bed, it was a school night, and Rand and Pyper just ran around crazy until 1:00! I would have loved a bit of their energy!

Thursday I straightened the house and got ready for a little family birthday party for Pyper. I wasn't in the mood to bake a cake, so we had Strawberry Shortcakes instead! (I did however make REAL whipped cream! Like that's hard, but it scored me brownie points!) I had a hubby that didn't feel well, and hadn't for about 2 months, so we squeezed in a trip to the Instacare when I went to Logan for supplies. One Amoxicillian prescription later and he says he is feeling MUCH better! We had great time with the fam, the "cake" was yummy, and Pypee got plenty of "loot."

On Friday the LAST of our good friends got married in Bountiful (YAY MORE DRIVING! I don't think my butt will ever recover!) David was a groomsman, so we ditched the kidlets AGAIN (thanks Grandma Charlene, Leslie, and Aunt Loopy!) and headed out. It was fun, and they are SO HAPPY!! (They should be, it took them long enough to decide to get married!!) We partied with them until 8:30, when we decided that we were old and tired and wanted to go home!

My poor hubby got about 3 hours of sleep, and headed out to Moab early this morning for a fair. I, on the other had slept in and am STILL sitting around in my jammies and uncombed hair (at 11:15 am!) I have refused 2 invitations to ride to Logan today--I AM STAYING HOME!!! It has been a fun few days, but I sure am glad it's over!

Hip Hip Hooray...

...Pyper is THREE today!

It is hard to believe that this tiny, squishy thing has turned into.....

this jabbering, rambunctious, Dora-loving little girl!

It has been so much fun to watch her grow and see how her personality has developed. She most definitely lets us know what she thinks of things, whether good or bad! I love all her kisses, hugs, and most especially, being told, "You're my BEST FWIEND!"

Here are some things you may not know about Pyper--

1. She is CRAZY about Dora the Explorer (OK, so you all know that one, but I couldn't leave it out!)

2. She hates loud noises, always has. She freaks if a big truck drives down the street. She doesn't want to get "guished." We have pointed out on MANY occasions that the door is much smaller than the vehicle. Each time she just gives a very unsure "Oh, it can't get frew?"

3. She was 9 pounds 4 ounces when she was born, and weighed 14 pounds at 1 year old. We called her "Tink" cause she was so tiny! She has about caught up in the height department, but she is still a skinny thing!
4. She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up.

5. She doesn't care for chocolate milk or ketsup.

6. Her favorite color is purple and has been for a long time!

Pyper, you are such a special part of our family. It would not be the same without your "gweezes and moochies", or your temper! I love the way your eyes light up when you have accomplished something that was hard for you. You are stubborn, loving, snugly, and have a mouth that NEVER turns off--and I love you for it!! Don't change a thing! Love, Mommy

Because Loopy Complained...

It has been awhile since I posted, and Loopy started to complain that she didn't have anything new to read. So, here goes!
I got my stimulus check on Friday--WOOHOO!! I promptly went out and spent ALL of it. I got some cute bunk beds for Bugga and Pyper.(I stimulated the economy of Vietnam!) They have big drawers that go underneath them, but they had to be ordered and aren't here yet. Which is fine by me, after putting the beds together, I was pooped! It took me ALL DAY LONG!

I only had 2 extra twin fitted sheets and no top sheets, so we went shopping!

Bug chose "Hannah Montana" sheets.

And since Pyper loves EVERYTHING Dora...guess what she chose?

I got some cute fabric today to make them some almost matching quilts.. Pink, purple, and butterflies--girly as girly can be, but they picked it!

I still had money left after the beds, so I decided to stimulate the economy of another country, this time I chose China. I got an XBox 360, Rock Band, and Guitar Hero. We are all addicted and would really LOVE to be rock stars when we grow up! I'll have to post some pics soon of us rockin out.

I LOVE STIMULUS CHECKS!!!

Mothers Day

OK, so I am REALLY behind, but that shouldn't surprise anyone!! I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mom's Day. I just wanted to let all the moms in my life know how much I appreciate them. I have some amazing examples to look up to--my mom, grandmas, aunts, mom-in-law, cousins, and sis-in-laws who are all WONDERFUL mothers. I can learn something new from each one. Each have their different challenges and are at different stages as a mom, and it is neat to see the ways that they handle the things that are thrown at them. I Love You Guys!!

Now, on to my AWESOME Mothers Day! I got a yummy breakfast in bed that consisted of about 10 types of donuts and a HUGE Pepsi. (Calories don't count on Mother's Day!) I also got 4 kidlets in bed with me to help me eat it--I love it when they climb in bed with me to help me eat my breakfast. (well apart from the fact that I usually end up changing the sheets because there are so many crumbs!) They gave me their gifts that were, of course, made at school and church activities. I got cards, a plant from Hannah, a cute picture frame that Seth made at scouts and a plant he grew at school, and a recipe book from Bug. The recipe book was really cute. The teacher asked the kids to tell her how their mom makes their favorite food. Bugga chose Brownies--SURPRISE!! If I had only known earlier that all it took to be such a great mom was a $2 box of brownie mix...

ANYWAY, then I got to go on a date with my hubby, who came all the way home from Nevada for the weekend. And I got the MOST WONDERMOUS present from him! Are you all ready for this? I got a new cigarette lighter in my truck so I can charge my cell phone! Yep, it was the most romantic present that I have ever gotten, aside from the car stereo he gave me for my first anniversary! He didn't even get me a car charger, I had to buy my own! Ah, well... I guess I can let him off THIS time, he did drive 600 miles to be home...and he took me out to dinner!

"Curly Shirley"

Bug decided that she needed curly hair for school this morning. I think that she looks SO CUTE, so I had to post a pic. There is also proof of that new tooth that is growing in if you look really close!

I only have one question....When did my Bug decide to care what she looked like? She wears jeans and t-shirts because they ALL match each other!

I was wrong...

Sorry, I was off in my calculations just a bit. Hannah and her boyfriend broke up on Saturday. She had a pretty bad day, but in the end it was better (especially for me!!) They were "going out" for 1 1/2 weeks. ( I gave them 2 weeks.) She decided that she just wasn't "ready to have a boyfriend yet." (DUH, I said 2 weeks ago!!!) Not to worry, they are still good friends and still text and talk on the phone (I guess that's OK if he isn't her boyfriend). 12 year old friends are GREAT-- 12 year old boyfriends, not so much!!

"Homemade" Brownies and Hide-n-Peek

Today Bugga asked me AGAIN if I would make brownies. I made some last week to take to Achievement Days, and she was super upset that she only got 2 of them from what was leftover. She has been bugging me (no pun intended) since then to make more.

As I was mixing them up, she informed me that she "just LOVES my homemade brownies!" (Now, I am pretty sure that I got the recipe for these particular brownies from my Grandma Sch at Easter.) They are pretty easy and I will share the recipe with you--you won't need a pen. You go to Wally World and grab 2-3 packages of family size Great Value brownie mixes. How many mixes you use depends on how badly you need chocolate! You mix and bake according to the directions on the back of the box.

I admit that these particular "homemade" brownies were a bit special because I DID stir in some carmel bits. She even told her teacher about them for my "surprise" kindergarten recipe book that I am getting for Mothers Day from her. If I had only known earlier what it took to be such a GREAT cook...
(Bug had to have a brownie before bed so that she would "have good dreams.")

Now on to Hide-n-Peek...

As we were waiting for the brownies to cook, Pyper decided that we needed to play a game of Hide-n-Peek. This consists of me counting, her hiding, and then me following the giggles and her yelling "I'n in here!" Today was no different, but when I got to the laundry room where all the giggling was coming from, this is what I found...

Yep, she's in the dryer! And yes, she would be a nudist if I let her!

For Sale...CHEAP!

FOR SALE--One slightly used, six year old girl. Usually is VERY helpful, sweet, independant, and generally great to have around. Not this week! What happened?
