Just a Pyperism....

Yesterday, Laura and I went to Logan. Each of our driver's licenses had expired on our birthdays, and we went together to get them renewed. Pyper and Rand were having a blast in the back seat, and must have been telling jokes or something. From the front seat we heard Rand say, "That is funny as Hewl!" Now..... I am proud to say we were good mommies and kept straight faces as we explained that we don't say those words.....until Pyper chimed in, "Yeah Wand, we don't say dat and we don't say shit, those are mommy words!"......we lost it!

A long time coming...

I don't normally get too emotional or religious on my blog. But today I am just so excited and happy that I am going to. For the last 3 years or so, David and I have had some personal issues that have needed to be resolved, and therefore have not had the privilege to have temple recommends. I didn't really realize what a big deal it was to have them, until today. I have always believed, but have felt very forgotten for the last while. We have each done a bunch of soul searching, praying, attitude changing, tithing paying; and decided today was the day we were ready to get our recommends back. We asked the bishopric after church when they did interviews, and they asked us to wait for just a few minutes and they would do it today! As I was sitting in the bishops office for my interview, it hit me how much I had missed the blessing of being able to go to the temple. I just came back from my interview with the stake president, and am very glad to say that I passed! I am now the proud owner of a temple recommend, and I hope I will never take it for granted again!

I'm wondering....

...if all teenagers come preprogrammed to do this. I know I used to!

(just thinking about it now gives me a headache!)

In training

Friday afternoon I was chatting with Leslie, and noticed that Pyper was in the bathroom singing. This in itself isn't unusual, she spends ENORMOUS amounts of time in the bathroom and sings often! (This does not make me excited for her to turn into a teenager if she already spend lots of time in there!) Still, I went to investigate the situation, and kick her off the potty--or so I thought. This is what I found...

She was washing the sink. Then when she got done with that, she decided to wash the walls...

I guess maybe I will start letting her spend all the time she wants in the bathroom!

Who do they look like?

Since I am REALLY bored and have nothing new to blog about, and also since we have argued for quite a few years (a little over 12 now to be exact) about who each kid looks like, I found this meter thingie. *talk about a run on sentence* I hope this solves it!

Eastering

We always roll our eggs with Grandma and Grandpa Schvaneveldt the Saturday before Easter. It is lots of fun, and very much looked forward to every year! We got to take our cousin Rand with us this year. We colored our eggs at Grandma's house, had a cookout, rolled our eggs, and had a ginormous egg fight! Here are all the pictures of our fun! We colored eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide after we got home. Thanks for all the fun Grandma and Grandpa! We love you!
