Art in the Street Program 2011

Tonight was the annual Art in the Street Program for the elementary school. It was so fun to watch them! Just excuse the shaky filming, I am in no way a professional, you can certainly tell every time I got distracted!

Pyper's class learned how to "finger spell" their alphabet as they learned their letters this year in Kindergarten. They sang Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

Seth's class was next with an awesome performance involving tubes and hard hats (which he apparently needs lessons on how to wear properly. Don't be too ashamed Buzz and Grandpa Brent!)

Lyra's class did a cute little number with drumsticks...

Then Seth and the entire 5th grade got to do a dance...

Also this year, their principal is transferring to another school. So at the end of the program, the kids sang him a song. One of the teachers had made him a little quilt to remember his time at their school by.

Crazy Hair Day/Pyper's 6!

This year, crazy hair day happened to fall on Pyper's birthday. She was pretty excited to get to have crazy hair on her birthday! It's pretty amazing what you can do with a few pipe cleaners and a couple paper cups!

And here is a picture of the brand new 6 year old! We are sure glad she's part of our family!

Super Unicorns

I was cleaning out my Primary bag this morning, and found the illustration for this post. It actually happened about a month ago. (Yeah, my bag REALLY needed to be cleaned out!)

Things we love around here~

1. Comics
2. Super heros
3. Unicorns
4. Captain Underpants
5. Powerpuff Girls

So, naturally, sometimes when the speakers in church get a bit long-winded and the bag of treats is gone, things like this happen...

I wish I could say this was just the kids doing, but Dad gave them a bunch of help...and we all had the giggles pretty badly!

Pyper's art

Pyper loves to draw pictures. In fact, there are so many pictures on the fridge that you can't close the door without at least one falling off. She makes it her personal mission to keep me stocked with priceless works of art.

Tonight she gave me this drawing,
and then offered me this explanation..."It is you and Dad on your Marriage Day, that's why there are hearts all over it, cause you love each other. And do you see your short hair and your pretty bow? And Dad has a hat on, cause he always wears a hat. But those lines right there (the ones coming out of our mouths), those aren't tongues, those are just kisses."

I laughed pretty hard!
