Hair Bling

Yesterday I had itchy fingers, and decided that my girls NEEDED these hair bling thingies.

They were super easy and they are so cute in their hair! You just twist them in and they just "float" there! Super cute! Here's the tutorial I used.

Bug is "famous"!

So, here she is in all her glory! (You can click on the picture to make it bigger.) She was very excited to see herself in the paper. On the front page even! Thanks to Grandma-Great, Aunt Karen, and Grandma Charlene for the heads up! Apparently the newspaper doesn't have "privacy policies" like everywhere else. They just put your kid in the paper without your knowledge!

Pyper is 4!

So, this post was SUPPOSED to happen yesterday, but yesterday was ...well....a little hectic! (Thanks Aunt Loopy, Uncle Dustin, and Grandma Charlene!) So, as usual I am a day late and a dollar short!

Happy Birthday Pyper!

This girl is so fun! She is just the light in our home. She says and does the funniest things. Last week we were going to WalMart and she asked to be carried. I told her "OK, but do you know that once you turn four then it's against the rules for mom's to carry you anymore?" (Yeah, I'm evil. But I just LOVE to hear what she comes up with!) She stood there for just a second with a very ponderous look on her face. Then she announced, "Wewl, I am still thwee!" She was right, I carried her.
She has grown up so much over the past year, and mostly just the last few weeks! She loves to tag along with "her kids" and they are pretty good to take her most of the time. She gets "stinky" all the time and has to bathe at least twice every day! She is such a little princess. She loves poofy dresses and the color purple. She hates orange fruit snacks and loud noises. She wore a tutu everywhere we went yesterday. When people asked her why she was wearing a tutu, she replied "Because it's my birtday and I can!" I love her spunk and attitude!

Pyper, I hope you always twirl and dance your way through life. Don't forget to have fun!

And always take time to stop and smell the flowers! Happy Birthday, Tink. I love you!

An early birthday party

Since David was home last weekend, we threw together a quick little party for Pyper's birthday. Thanks to all who were able to come celebrate with us on such short notice!

Last year for her birthday, she wanted strawberry shortcakes. Apparently, her birthday is the ONLY time the world eats strawberry shortcake. A few weeks ago I made some and she said, "Drawberwie Shorwtcakes! Is it my birt day?" So, yet again this year, she had Strawberry Shortcake instead of cake! Hey, it makes my job easy! Here is a little slide show of her party...

My Last "Happy" Day!

Day 8

Wow! I made it! Eight whole days in a row! That makes me happy! But it isn't my "happy" thing for today!
Bath and Body Works Black Raspberry Vanilla...I LOVE this stuff! It is one of my few indulgences. I love the bubbles from the shower gel, the cool bottle that the body spray comes in now, and the back rubs and foot rubs I get with the body cream! I love the way it smells, not too flowery and not too fruity. It is the best and makes me very happy when I use it.........alone........ .........in the bathtub............no children allowed..............just me, the bubbles, lots of hot water, and my book...... .........aaaahhhhhh.............bliss...........

Lots of Happiness

Day 7

There are quite a few things that make me happy today, five to be exact. Consider this a "bonus" day! The first one is Hannah.
She is growing up to be such a beautiful young woman that I just can't believe it! It seems like just last week she was telling me what all the animals say and we were going to story hour. Now she thinks she should be able to go shopping at the mall by herself. She still realizes that I am not quite big enough to let her do that all the time yet, and lets me tag along sometimes! She is very responsible and aware of things. She also thinks of others a lot and wants to be sure they are happy.

Then there is my dude... In this house full of girl hormones, Seth is my mellow spot. Not much bothers this kid. He is a cheese and a ham (kinda makes him sound like a sandwich huh?). He loves to make people laugh! And he gives the best squeezes and smooches all the time! What almost-ten-year-old-boy isn't ashamed to squeeze his mom in front of his friends? I'm pretty lucky. He loves to skate and snowboard, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if I get to watch him in the X Games one day! If you can't tell by the hair--Shawn White is his hero! Oh yes, I also LOVE his freckles!

And my Bug...
She has become my sidekick in the kitchen. She is wild and crazy and full of life! She is stubborn and independent, but she is the most compassionate little girl I have ever seen. She makes sure that everyone is included and has someone to play with. She likes to make sure people are happy and tries so hard to do what you want her to. She keeps our home filled with life! There is never a dull moment with her around!

Pyper is another thing that makes me happy.

She tries so hard to be as big as the others. She idolizes her big "sissy" (that would be Hannah) and hates to be left behind by her "sista"(that would be Bugga). Her "brwoder" is her favorite pal to play video games with. She says some of the funniest things and I am constantly wondering what will come out of her mouth! She has to make sure to "mootch and gweeze" almost everyone who comes or goes from our house. Even if I am just running out to shuffle cars, I can't walk out the door without kissing her! I'm also happy that her "umblilicil cowrd" grew long enough for her to go to school! (As you can see from the picture, this is what she shows you when she says it has grown.)

I can't forget this "child"... Evona is ALWAYS happy to see me. She has the cutest little personality, and doesn't know she is a dog. I'm pretty sure she thinks she is a human. She plays with the kids and is Pyper's best friend and also her worst enemy! She loves to sleep on my warm bed, and chew her rawhide bones. She is pretty sure it is every one's job to pet her and let her sit on their lap. Her best friend is her "cousin" Jayda, who is a boxer! THAT is a funny sight!

There you go. I am VERY happy today!

Happiness

Day 6

WOW! I have made it six consecutive days! I am a little impressed with myself! My thing that makes me happy today might seem silly, but it makes me happy nonetheless...Sunday afternoon naps! I LOVE a good nap on a calm Sunday afternoon. I think that's the only thing that's good about 9 am church, you have loads of time to come home and have a nap and still have time left to go visiting or whatever! Yep, naps are good!

A Happy Day!

Day 5

Since it seems like we had to wait extra long for these this year, sunny summery days make me happy. The sun is warm, and the evenings are still cool and refreshing. The burgers on the grill are tasty. The company is entertaining. The kids can run around outside and play. Yes, those days bring a smile to my face and make me remember that life is good!

What makes me happy today...

Day 4

This is David's car. It is a great little car. It gets super good gas mileage. It only takes $25 to FILL the tank! (Even when gas was over $3 a gallon, it never took more than $30 when it was empty!) It is easy to just zip around in when you run errands. You can always find a parking place, cause it squishes in any tiny little spot. But the thing that makes me the MOST happy about this car, is that last night it brought David home to visit us! We are all pretty happy about that! The kids and I have missed him! Everyone should have a car like this!

Still Happy!

Day 3

Today, David makes me happy. I really struggled with putting this in here. I know that many people don't see him the way that I do. But the fact of the matter is that HE makes ME happy! He always supports me in my crazy ideas, and makes me believe that I am capable and can do anything I want to. He accepts me the way I am and sees no reason to try and make me change. He has given me the most wonderful kids a mom could ask for. We have had our rough patches, but honestly who hasn't? I wouldn't change any of it. He has made me a stronger person, and I am grateful. He is my best friend, my cheering section, my confidant, and my squeeze. He makes me feel beautiful and I never wonder if he loves me. I can always count on him to be there when it seems the rest of the world has turned away. And THAT makes me happy!

Happy Tag, Day 2!

Day 2

Today, my cell phone makes me happy. *Disclaimer: my cell phone does NOT make me happy every day, most days I just want to chuck it out the window!* I love it when Hannah texts me random messages between classes, and calls to chat on her way home from school. I also love that I am able to talk to David whenever I want. Hmmm, now that I think about it, maybe THEIR cell phones make me happy...

I'm it!

Jody tagged me to blog about something that makes me happy, for eight days! We'll see if I can remember to do it every day!

Day 1

It makes me happy that my table never has to be naked. There is a whole "garden" of flowers outside, and Bug and Pyper make sure that the jar is always full of fresh posies! They don't even have time to die off before they refresh the bouquet. Thanks girls! I Love You!

I tag Laura, Valerie, Jenni, Tawny, Mandy, and Cami.
