A long time coming...

I don't normally get too emotional or religious on my blog. But today I am just so excited and happy that I am going to. For the last 3 years or so, David and I have had some personal issues that have needed to be resolved, and therefore have not had the privilege to have temple recommends. I didn't really realize what a big deal it was to have them, until today. I have always believed, but have felt very forgotten for the last while. We have each done a bunch of soul searching, praying, attitude changing, tithing paying; and decided today was the day we were ready to get our recommends back. We asked the bishopric after church when they did interviews, and they asked us to wait for just a few minutes and they would do it today! As I was sitting in the bishops office for my interview, it hit me how much I had missed the blessing of being able to go to the temple. I just came back from my interview with the stake president, and am very glad to say that I passed! I am now the proud owner of a temple recommend, and I hope I will never take it for granted again!

Awesome!! I for one know how hard it can be to keep the blessing of a temple recommend. It can be a real personal struggle. I am very proud of you both. I would be glad to either tend the kids or go with you. Love you, Mom

That's great, guys! And I'll add that you never know what a blessing it is to have a temple so close until you move and it takes eight hours to go do a session. I shouldn't complain, others have to travel much further, but I miss it being so close. You're VERY blessed. Enjoy. :)
