HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Here is a peek at all the fun we have been up to today...

These are our jack-o-lanterns that we carved last night. Sorry, no pictures of that, it is hard to snap photos when you are elbow deep in pumpkin guts!

And here are all the cute costumes...

Hannah is a "Halloween Fairy" who doesn't like her picture taken (don't ask me, she is usually a very photogenic person!)

And this is my SON! He decided to be a Gothic cheerleader. While making this costume, I said quite a few things I never thought I would. Such as "I am finishing my son's skirt." "HIS makeup is almost done." and "Just making Seth some panties."

And here is our "Snow Fairy". She has been waving her wand to make it snow, but has yet to succeed! She wants to go skiing!

Pyper chose to be a Black Cat so she was "just like Dora." I especially like her "ears!"

We couldn't leave Evona out! She makes a pretty cute bat. The funny part is that she didn't mind being dressed up. She pranced around all night!

Then we always have a very gross meal for Halloween dinner. My kids expect it now! So tonight we had a mummy with gut sauce, parasite and worm salad, and ectoplasm pies for dessert--complete with dirt and ghost poop! To drink we had a tall pitcher of good ol swamp water! YUMMY!

Fundraiser Update

I found this update today on the fundraiser for Ashley and Daryl Larsen...

Maddox rocks! You will be able to order Any Family Meal at the take out on Nov. 5th and the profit ($10 for family of 4 or $5 for family of 2 meal) will be given to Daryl and Ashley Larsen. Any meal people! Eat Extra! This is an awesome opportunity to help people we love by eating. Please remember to mention the Larsen family name when ordering and/or paying. Keep getting the word out. I can't believe how well the word is spreading, but we have got to keep it up. Please copy and paste.

For a Good Cause...

I have had the same person, Shirley, cut my hair since I was in high school. (Barring a few trips to WalMart when she or I was out of town. But the haircuts were never the same!) Recently, her daughter Ashley had a baby. After a healthy and uneventful pregnancy, they found out that he had a rare lung disorder and didn't produce the surfactant needed for our lungs to stay inflated. He spent about 6 weeks at Primary Children's and Ogden hospitals, but just couldn't fight hard enough to make it. Some friends of Ashley's have decided to do a benefit dinner for them to help with medical bills. I know that most of you don't know her, but if you are thinking of going on a date night or just don't want to cook, this is a great restaurant and is certainly for a good cause. Here is the info...

Most of you know Daryl and Ashley Larsen. For those of you who don't, they are a young couple in Perry, who just lost their baby to a rare lung disorder. Their loss is truly a tragedy. They are now experiencing the beginnings of what will be a land slide of medical bills. In an effort to aide them, there will be a one day fundraiser at the Maddox Steak House. On November 5, you can call Maddox at (435)723-2916 and order the Turkey Steak dinner. You can choose the 2 or 4 family meal at the regular price. All proceeds will then be donated to the Larsen family. You do need to remember to mention the Larsen family name when ordering. You can then pick up your meal at the take out window in the back of Maddox. It will be for lunch and dinner. Please spread the word. Feel free to copy and paste this post on your blog.

I HATE...

...the word "housewife."

Yep, tell me I am "just a housewife" and see how fast you get my help! (She's just lucky all I did was hang up on her!)

Dinnertime Entertainment

My children are weird! They were serenading me at dinner tonight. Now, I don't usually allow this sort of wildness at the dinner table, but since I haven't felt good for the past couple of weeks I thought that my kids probably could use a break! So, I got out the camera and recorded their songs for all posterity. My boy told me that he was glad I was feeling better and was fun again! Then they all asked me if I would put them on my blog! Being the wonderful mom that I am I said OK.

Here they are for your enjoyment! They were being REALLY loud, so be warned! I would say enjoy, but I don't know if that is quite the right word...

This is the song that started it all!

Then Bug had to get in on the action. She took the song that Hannah was going to sing.

Seth decided on this little ditty...

And, of course Hannah is ever the dork. She had to do 3 takes, but the first one I forgot to record! So here are her last two!

Take #2-

They may be dorks, but they are MY dorks!!

"The Tinkerbell Collection"

Pyper has a fascination with Tinkerbell, always has. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that ever since she was born, we have called her "Tink". Lately this fascination has grown, she watches Peter Pan at least 4 times a week.

A couple of years ago, my mom took my kids to Disney on Ice. Pyper was too little to go, but we brought her back this cute little Tinkerbell dress up outfit.

She came out wearing it today. Complete with no shirt and a leftover hairdo! Our conversation went something like this:

Pyper- "Look Mamma, I am Tinkabew!"
Me- "Yes, you are. I love your outfit!"
Pyper- "Oh, ganks you! It is my Tinkabew costume!"
Me- "I see that."
Pyper- "It is frwum the Tinkabew Colleshun!"
Me- "Oh, I like it!"
Pyper- "Ganks, I got it at WarMawt!"

Oh dear, whatever would I do without this girl to entertain me?

Lyra's schoolwork

Lyra came home and was showing off how proud she was of the stars on her papers from school. They have been working on rhyming words. Here is what she came up with.

Front

These were some pretty good words, I admit. I was proud of her, she has had a little trouble with rhyming words. They are just tricky!

Then I turned the paper over to see the back...

...and had to stifle a giggle! Only Bug!

Is It A Boy Thing?

I woke up just a bit ago and remembered that I forgot to put some jeans in the dryer. As I was unloading the washer, this is what I found...

Now, all of this belongs to my son. This isn't the first time that I have washed some of this stuff. (FYI-football cards can last about 3 washes before they disintegrate. Pokemon are doing good if they make it through one!) Do you think I will EVER learn to check this kid's pockets? How does he fit all this stuff into his pockets? I only washed ONE pair of his pants!

A Good Big Brother

This morning when Seth was cleaning his room, I kept hearing thing like " Whoa, I nevew saw dat coming!" or "Dat was a cowse one Ses!" or "What Should we do now Ses?" Since he was supposed to be alone, I went to inspect the situation, and this is what I found...

They were playing "Pac-man". Seth had taken her controller and "plugged" it into the back of the XBox so she could help!
